A more technical biography:
In high school I was playing in bands and got exposed to the idea of recording studios; it was all downhill from there π
I went to UW for a year, then Shoreline’s recording program. I interned and worked for the Recording Academy, KEXP, and assisted Producer Bubba Jones. I learned as much as possible about the ins and outs of recording equipment.
I was hired to manage the Old Fire House’s Media Lab recording studio, where I had room to tinker, repair, and build things. The console was replaced, I turned the building’s fire tower into an echo chamber, we made a pumpkin into an amp, all kinds of fun stuff.
All the while I worked freelance and built my moving home studio, Tastefully Loud, which has now seen 5 different consoles and a million locations. And after building and fixing my own equipment for years, I started taking on freelance gigs.
I started managing 7 Hills Studio in 2019, as both a public studio and place for my own projects. I’ve done extensive work on the studio and its equipment, including the Trident TSM console.
